AC Alloys came to us with an idea of they wanted the promo video to convey the service they provide. Throughout the video, the use of slow motion and speed ramps would be required to create interesting innovative footage that would blow the viewers minds.
Pre-production – The pre production process for this video began by taking a look at the premises that AC Alloys work out of. AC Alloys arranged for a customer to come in with their car for us to shoot them carrying out the service they provide. From this visit we were able to create a shot list and storyboard.
Shoot – On the day of the shoot we setup the equipment leaving enough time to take some test footage before the customer arrived. Sticking to the storyboard and shot list, we began filming a series of one takes throughout the process along with some additional B roll footage of the Garage. All the footage was filmed on the Sony A7r3 camera using a 50mm lens. The camera was mounted on a DJI Ronin Gimbal for smooth fluid B roll. We rapped up filming and checked the footage to make sure we had all the shots listed on our shot list and storyboard.
Post Production – We edited the footage in Final Cut Pro. The footage was all shot in 4k 60fps so that we could get creative with slow motion and speed ramps. The additional B roll footage was added in and around the main footage. The video was then graded using blown out whites and saturated colours to create a very clean cinematic looking promo video. Several edits were then created for the client to look at and then choose the one she liked the best.
