Project Brief
Dough House Chorlton came to us with an idea for a set of promo videos to some of the cocktails they provide. Throughout the video, the use of slow motion and speed ramps would be required to create interesting innovative footage that would blow the viewers minds.
The Process
Pre-production – The pre production process for this video began by taking a look at the premises. From this visit we were able to create a shot list and storyboard.
Shoot – On the day of the shoot we setup the equipment leaving enough time to take some test footage before the customer arrived. Sticking to the storyboard and shot list, we began filming a series of one takes throughout the various stages of process. All the footage was filmed on the Sony A7r3 camera using a 50mm lens. For some takes the camera was mounted on a DJI Ronin Gimbal for smooth fluid shots. For other take the camera was mounted on a tripod for stable static shots. We rapped up filming and checked the footage to make sure we had all the shots listed on our shot list and storyboard.
Post Production – We edited the footage in Adobe Premiere. The footage was all shot in 4k 60fps so that we could get creative with slow motion and speed ramps. The video was then graded using blown out whites and saturated colours to create a very clean cinematic looking promo video. Several edits were then created for the client to look at and then choose the one she liked the best.
